YOU ARE IN: Home > Surrounding Towns > Fryerstown

Fryerstown was once home to more than 15,000 people (with 25 hotels and 5 breweries!) but now it is a tranquil retreat. The beautiful 1880 Court House, the Burke & Wills Institute and the bushland setting provide an interesting insight into its rich history.

Every Australia Day weekend provides an influx of visitors with the annual Fryerstown Antique Fair. First held in 1975, the Fair is one of the largest in Australia. Buyers and sellers of antiques and collectables flock to Fryerstown from all over Victoria and interstate for this long standing event.
