Event Calendar

Start: Sat 11th March 10 a.m. | End: Sun 12th March 4:30 p.m.

There will be three gardens opening over the weekend. They are Stone Axe, Coliban Springs and Rocklands.

Stone Axe is set among rolling hills with the Campaspe river and Lake Eppalock in front, providing a surprise after a dry and dusty approach to the house down a long driveway. The scope of the garden is something that captures visitors imagination – the integration of the garden within the broader landscape.

At Coliban Springs there were two main criteria that drove the planting – drought tolerance and bird attraction. The garden has a number of quiet spots for sitting and contemplating. A particular favourite is Beryl’s Deck which overlooks the lake and glimpses the ‘campaign tent’. This tent looks back at the house across the water and is a great shady spot for a picnic.

Rocklands sits high above the Campaspe River, enjoying breathtaking views across an expansive lawn area, and the borrowed landscape of the river valley and the distant hills. The garden comprises of groves of oak trees, olive trees, formal gardens, vegetable gardens, orchard and a vineyard.

The gardens are open from 10 am till 4:30 pm on both days.
