Event Calendar

Phee Broadway Theatre, Castlemaine

Start: Sat 15th June 7:30 p.m. | End: Sat 15th June

The Castlemaine Highland Pipe Band and the City of Melbourne Highland Pipe Band extend a warm invitation to the Evolution Concert to be held at the Phee Broadway Theatre on Saturday 15 June. This concert presents an opportunity for our two community organisations to come together and share our rich cultural heritage and the modern evolution of pipe band music with the broader community.

The impetus for the concert, is a celebration of 120 years of service and achievements of the Melbourne Pipe Band to the Victorian and Australian communities. The concert will provide a glimpse of that rich history, musical innovation and excellence.

The Band has notched up several notable performances, including John Farnham’s ‘You’re the Voice’ film clip and concerts, a guest appearance on ABC’s ‘Spicks and Specks’, the AFL Grand Final and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo in Sydney and Melbourne. With regular performances at ANZAC Day, Melbourne Cup, AFL Grand Final Parades and countless other community and charity gigs, the City of Melbourne Highland Pipe Band has found itself a special place in the fabric of the Melbourne and greater Victorian community.

The Band wears the Logan/McLennan tartan in honour of our first pipe major.

General admission tickets $20, available at the website.
